PhD candidate in the laboratory of comparative immunology at UMMS. Interested in host pathogen interactions at mucosal surfaces especially the gut. Microbiologist by training,open to ideas,always looking to learn,motivated for glory( that last part was a bit over the top). Working towards a PhD in biomedical sciences and a career in academia. TRANSCRIPTIONAL REGULATION OF HOST DEFENSE BY NHR'S

Nuclear hormone receptors can regulate host immune genes upon infection. I am trying to elucidate the pathways involved in such responses during S. aureus infection in C. elegans

 

PATHOGENIC SIGNAL DETECTED BY THE HOST  TO TRIGGER AN IMMUNE RESPONSE

Using a single deletion transposon mutant library of S. aureus , I am trying to identify the bacterial genes required to trigger host defense in C. elegans.
